Editorial policies
How the journal is made, checked, corrected and funded, and what the site does with your data.
Mission
Journal of the AI Universe is an independent, personal initiative by Dr.P.R.K.Varma, M.D., D.M., a cardiologist in India. It is part of RKVarma AI Universe, which tracks 50 AI projects.
The aim is to give readers a clear, sourced daily account of what is happening in artificial intelligence across every part of life. It has two daily publications: the Daily AI News Updates, which covers 50 AI projects numbered 01–50, and the Global AI Hardware & Software R&D Intelligence report, which follows the research of 50 companies.
Sourcing and verification
- Primary sources first. Each item is based on the original source wherever one exists: the company or institution announcement, the paper or preprint, the official filing or the event page. Every item links to its sources so readers can check them.
- Checked before publication. Headlines, dates, names and figures are checked against the source page. Anything that cannot be verified is dropped, not published with a caveat.
- Secondary reports are flagged. Where only a secondary report is available and the item is still kept, or sources give conflicting details, this is stated with an Editor’s note.
- Evidence labels on R&D items. Each item in the R&D Intelligence report is labelled with its evidence type (for example peer-reviewed paper, preprint, conference abstract, company announcement or secondary report) and its technology readiness level (from theoretical to commercial), so readers can see how strong the evidence is.
- Daily reporting windows in IST. Each daily edition covers a stated reporting window in Indian Standard Time (IST). The R&D report prints its window at the top of every edition.
- One home per item. In the Daily AI News Updates, each item is filed under exactly one of the 50 projects, so nothing is counted twice.
- These are news and research summaries, not medical, financial, legal or investment advice.
Corrections
Mistakes are corrected openly. To report an error, post in the WhatsApp group, giving the date of the issue or report, the project or company number and what is wrong, with a link to a source if you have one.
When a correction is made, the item is amended and a dated Corrections note is added to that issue’s page, saying what was changed and when. Corrections are listed in the log below. Factual errors are not changed silently. Typing and formatting fixes that do not change the meaning may be made without a note.
Independence and conflicts of interest
The journal is self-funded. It carries no advertising and no sponsored content, and nobody pays for an item to be included, left out or placed. Inclusion is an editorial decision based on news and research value.
If the editor has a personal or financial interest relevant to an item, it will be declared beside that item.
Use of AI tools
AI tools help to find and gather items, summarise sources, draft text and lay out the pages, posters and PDFs. Every item is curated and reviewed by the editor before publication, and every item links to its original sources. The editor is responsible for what is published.
Privacy
The site does not ask for, collect or store any personal information from visitors. It sets no cookies.
The site runs no statistics or analytics service and no advertising or tracking scripts.
There is no email newsletter yet, so the site has no forms and collects no email addresses.
Your theme choice (light or dark) is saved in your own browser’s local storage and is never sent anywhere.
Services the site relies on. Like any web host, the hosting service (GitHub Pages) receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page, and may keep them in their logs for security. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives the same technical request data. These services handle that data under their own privacy policies.
External links. Links to sources and to the WhatsApp group take you to other sites, which have their own privacy policies. If you join the WhatsApp group, your phone number and profile are visible to the group under WhatsApp’s terms.
If anything here changes (for example, if an email newsletter or a statistics service is added), this policy will be updated at the same time.
Licence and reuse
Unless otherwise stated, the original content of Journal of the AI Universe (the text, posters, PDFs and other material made for the journal and the R&D report) is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0).
You may share and adapt it for non-commercial purposes if you give credit to Dr.P.R.K.Varma, Journal of the AI Universe, link to the licence and the original page, and say whether you made changes. Commercial use needs permission.
The licence does not cover third-party material: the linked articles, papers and announcements, and any names, logos and trademarks, belong to their owners.
